In a move that’s shaking up India’s defence and aerospace industry, Raphe mPhibr, a Noida-based startup, has raised a record $100 million in private funding. The round was led by General Catalyst and marks the largest-ever capital raise in India’s aerospace manufacturing space.
Also backing the company were Think Investments, Amal Parikh, and other family offices. With this round, Raphe mPhibr’s total funding now stands at $145 million.

Drones Are No Longer the Future—They’re the Present
This funding comes at a time when the world is leaning heavily into drone warfare. The recent India-Pakistan border tensions saw both sides using drones for surveillance and tactics. Clearly, the future of defence is airborne—and unmanned.
That’s exactly where Raphe mPhibr steps in.
Built by Brothers, Backed by Science
Founded almost a decade ago by brothers Vivek Mishra (CEO) and Vikash Mishra (Chairman), Raphe mPhibr designs and manufactures a range of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).
Some of their flagship products include:
- mR10: A powerful drone swarm platform
- mR20: A high-altitude logistics drone
- Bharat: A man-portable surveillance drone
- X8: A compact maritime patrol system
Several of these are already in use by the Indian armed forces, and others are in advanced testing stages.

A Campus That Builds Everything In-House
What sets Raphe mPhibr apart is their vertically integrated aerospace campus in Noida. From aerodynamics to materials science and thermodynamics, everything is built and tested under one roof. That’s rare. And powerful.
Neeraj Arora from General Catalyst says,
“We are proud to join forces with Raphe mPhibr on their transformative journey… their products are already making a tangible impact.”
India’s Private Defence Boom Is Just Starting
This funding aligns perfectly with India’s larger vision. The government has been actively pushing for private sector innovation in defence. Recent efforts like the iDEX programme and transfer of satellite tech to HAL are clear signals.
And now, startups like Raphe mPhibr are turning vision into action.
This isn’t just a big win for Raphe mPhibr. It’s a defining moment for India’s private aerospace ecosystem. A homegrown startup, building futuristic military drones, getting serious global backing—that’s the India story we don’t hear enough of.
