A tragic bomb blast hit a government vehicle in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, killing five people and injuring 11 others. The incident happened in Bajaur, a tribal area in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which has been known for militant activity.
Among those killed was Assistant Commissioner Faisal Sultan, a senior government official. District police chief Waqas Rafique said that the injured were taken to the hospital, and some are in serious condition.

Although no group has officially taken responsibility for the attack, the police believe that the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) might be behind it. This group has carried out many similar attacks in recent times, mainly targeting security forces and government workers. The TTP is closely linked to the Afghan Taliban and has become more active since the fall of Kabul in 2021.
This bombing came just days after another deadly suicide attack last Saturday in North Waziristan, where 16 soldiers were killed. That attack was claimed by a group called Hafiz Gul Bahadur, which is part of the Pakistani Taliban.
