At least 82 Palestinians lost their lives overnight in Gaza due to a series of airstrikes and shootings, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry and local hospitals. Among them, 38 people were killed while trying to collect humanitarian aid. Local authorities say this was one of the deadliest nights in recent weeks.
Out of the 38 who were killed while waiting for aid, five were near locations linked to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation—a new, secretive organisation backed by the U.S. and reportedly supported by Israel. The other 33 people were struck at various aid distribution spots across Gaza.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on these events.
Other deadly attacks included one in the overcrowded Muwasi area, where 15 people were killed after airstrikes hit their tents. Another strike reportedly hit a school in Gaza City that was sheltering displaced families.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says the total number of people killed in the war has now gone over 57,000. This includes 223 people who were missing and are now presumed dead. While the ministry does not separate civilians from militants in its count, it reports that more than half of the victims are women and children.
These rising deaths come as peace talks between Israel and Hamas continue. U.S. President Donald Trump recently claimed that Israel agreed to a 60-day ceasefire and called on Hamas to accept the deal. However, Hamas insists that the war must fully end before any deal can happen, making the future of a truce unclear.
Israel says its military targets only Hamas fighters and weapons. It also blames Hamas for civilian deaths because they operate from crowded civilian areas. On Wednesday, Israeli forces said they attacked Hamas fighters and rocket launchers in northern Gaza, from where rockets were being fired at Israel.

The current conflict started on October 7, 2023, when Hamas-led fighters launched a surprise attack on southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostages. Since then, much of Gaza has been destroyed. Over 90% of the 2.3 million people living in Gaza have been forced to leave their homes, many more than once, and face growing hunger and suffering.
