Patanjali’s ₹1,500 Cr Orange Processing Plant in Nagpur Set to Boost Vidarbha Farmers & Transform Agro Industry

Patanjali’s mega food and herbal park in Mihan, Nagpur, is set to become Asia’s largest orange processing facility with a ₹1,500 crore investment. The plant, officially opened this Sunday, will process 800 tonnes of fruit daily, benefiting Vidarbha farmers and creating regional employment.

10 Key Highlights of Patanjali’s Orange Processing Plant

  1. ₹1,500 crore Mega Food Park to begin operations on Sunday.
  2. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Yoga Guru Ramdev to attended the inauguration.
  3.  The facility will produce a range of fruit juices & by-products, supporting local farmers.
  4. Acharya Balkrishna, MD of Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd, stated that this is Asia’s biggest & most advanced processing plant.
  5.  The project faced challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, but has now become a reality.
  6. Processing capacity of 800 tonnes/day, featuring a zero-waste system that extracts volatile & fragrance oil from orange peels.
  7. Focus on high-quality, export-grade products, prioritizing Indian consumers.
  8. Fruit & vegetable processing units will operate at 800 tonnes daily capacity.
  9. The plant will produce juices and pastes from oranges, lime, amla, pomegranate, guava, grapes, gourd, carrot, mango, onion, and tomato.
  10. Acharya Balkrishna emphasized that this plant will bring an agricultural revolution & prosperity to Vidarbha farmers.
