
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bihar on July 18 and launched four new Amrit Bharat Express trains, giving a big push to the state’s railway network and improving regional connectivity.
What’s New?
The new Amrit Bharat Express trains will offer affordable, comfortable, and modern travel for people, especially in Bihar and eastern India.

PM Modi flagged off the following new train routes:
- Patna (Rajendra Nagar Terminal) – New Delhi
- Bapudham Motihari – Anand Vihar (Delhi)
- Darbhanga – Lucknow (Gomti Nagar)
- Malda Town – Lucknow (via Bhagalpur)
These new services are part of a larger development project worth over ₹7,200 crore.
Inaugural Train Schedule
A special train for the Patna–New Delhi route started on July 18 at 11:45 AM from Rajendra Nagar Terminal and reached Delhi the next day at 4:00 PM.
The return special train from Delhi left on July 19 at 6:00 PM and reached Patna on July 20 at 11:45 PM.
Regular Train Timings
The regular daily service for Patna – New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 22361/22362) will begin from:
- July 31, 2025 (Patna to Delhi)
Departs: 7:45 PM
Arrives: 1:10 PM (Next Day) - August 1, 2025 (Delhi to Patna)
Departs: 7:10 PM
Arrives: 11:45 AM (Next Day)
Train Stops
The train will stop at the following stations in both directions:
- Patna
- Danapur
- Ara
- Buxar
- Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction
- Dubedarganj
- Govindpuri
- Ghaziabad
Ticket Fare
- Sleeper Class fare from Patna to Delhi: ₹560
(This is slightly higher than the ₹520 charged by most other trains because of better passenger facilities.)
Train Coaches
The Patna–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will have:
- 8 Sleeper Coaches
- 11 General Coaches
- 2 Luggage-cum-Brake Vans
- 1 Pantry Car

Besides Patna–Delhi, other Amrit Bharat routes already running or launched include:
- Darbhanga – Anand Vihar (Delhi)
- Malda Town – SMVT Bengaluru
- Mumbai LTT – Saharsa
New routes launched on July 18 also include:

These new trains are part of the Indian government’s efforts to modernise railways and improve travel for common people.
