Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Siwan in Bihar on Friday, where he started several development projects and strongly criticized the Congress-RJD alliance. This was PM Modi’s fourth visit to Bihar this year as the state gets ready for upcoming elections.

Major Announcements and Projects:

  • Export of Locomotive from Bihar:
The Prime Minister flagged off a modern, powerful engine made at the Marhowra Plant in Bihar. This engine is being exported to Guinea in Africa, which is a big achievement under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. PM Modi said this shows that Bihar is now part of the global manufacturing map.
  • New Vande Bharat Express:
He launched the Vande Bharat Express between Patliputra and Gorakhpur, which will go via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah.
  • New Railway Line Project:
PM Modi also started the Vaishali–Deoria railway line project, worth ₹400 crore, and launched a new train on this route.
  • Clean Ganga and Urban Development:
As part of the Namami Gange mission, he inaugurated six sewage treatment plants worth over ₹1,800 crore to clean the Ganga.
He also launched water supply, sanitation, and sewage projects worth ₹3,000 crore in different towns of Bihar.
  • Boost to Power Supply:
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a Battery Energy Storage System to be installed in 15 power stations including Siwan, Muzaffarpur, and Bettiah. This system will help provide electricity during peak hours without buying expensive power.
  • Support for Housing:
PM Modi gave the first instalment of money to 53,600 beneficiaries under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban) and did a symbolic housewarming (Grih Pravesh) for 6,600 families. He promised that 3 crore more houses will be built in the future.

PM Modi’s Speech Highlights:

In his speech, PM Modi said that the NDA government is fulfilling the vision of great leaders like Dr. Rajendra Prasad. He added that Bihar will play a key role in making India a global economic power.

He strongly criticized the RJD and Congress, saying:

  • “They ruled Bihar with ‘jungle raj’, creating fear and blocking development.”
  • “They looted Bihar and made poverty worse.”
  • “The ‘lantern’ (RJD) and ‘hand’ (Congress) only worked for their families, not for the people.”
  • “They raised slogans like ‘remove poverty’ but did nothing. The NDA actually brought development after you voted for us.”

PM Modi said under the NDA rule, Bihar has seen:

  • Over 1.5 crore homes with electricity and water
  • 55,000 km of new rural roads
  • 45,000 Common Service Centres

He also reminded people that Siwan’s Saran district, once called backward, now makes locomotives for the world.
