Prime Minister Modi is on a power-packed two-day visit to Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh from June 20 to 21, launching massive projects worth over ₹40,000 crore. This tour is not just about ceremonies—it’s a sharp push for development ahead of key milestones for India.
Day 1: Modi in Bihar – Railways, Grih Pravesh & Namami Gange
In Siwan, Modi will launch major development projects, including the new Vaishali-Deoria railway line (₹400 crore) and flag off a new train. The Vande Bharat Express between Patliputra and Gorakhpur via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah will also take off.
Modi will also flag off India’s first export locomotive to the Republic of Guinea, built at Bihar’s Marhowra Plant—a bold step for India’s global manufacturing footprint.
The big spotlight? Namami Gange—six new Sewage Treatment Plants worth ₹1,800 crore to clean the Ganga and support sanitation.
He’ll also lay foundations for STPs, water supply, and sanitation projects worth over ₹3,000 crore. Add to that, a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), pushing green energy in Bihar.
And in a boost to housing, over 53,600 PMAY-U beneficiaries will get their first installment, while keys to 6,600 completed homes will be handed over personally by the PM.
In Odisha – From Roads to Rail to Respect
Later that day in Odisha, Modi will launch and inaugurate projects worth over ₹18,600 crore. From irrigation and health, to rural roads and railway lines, the focus is rural growth and infrastructure.
For the first time, Boudh district will get a railway connection. Also, 100 electric buses will hit the roads under the CRUT system, reducing pollution in urban Odisha.
A key cultural moment: Modi will launch the Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana to transform the birthplaces of famous Odia personalities into heritage spots.
He’ll also celebrate Odisha’s women power by honoring over 16.5 lakh Lakhpati Didis—self-reliant rural women breaking barriers.
Day 2: Andhra Pradesh – Yoga with the Nation
On June 21, Modi will join 5 lakh people for the International Yoga Day event at Visakhapatnam beach. The theme—“Yoga for One Earth, One Health”—blends wellness with climate consciousness.
Yoga Sangam will happen in 3.5 lakh+ spots across India, echoing India’s soft power globally.
Why This Visit Matters
This isn’t just Modi ticking boxes. It’s a deliberate show of strength, delivery, and speed. From trains and tech to clean water and empowered women, this visit sets a clear message—development is the agenda, not delay.
