A young social media influencer from Punjab, Kanchan Kumari, who was popularly known as Kamal Kaur or “Queen”, was found dead inside a parked car at Adesh Medical University in Bathinda on Wednesday evening. She was just 27 years old and had over 3.83 lakh Instagram followers. Her sudden and mysterious death has shocked many and raised serious concerns.
What Happened?
Kanchan had left her home in Ludhiana’s Laxman Nagar on June 9 to attend a promotional event in Bathinda. But after she reached the city, she lost contact with her family. Her body was found several days later in the back seat of her Hyundai Eon, which had a fake number plate. Locals had complained about a bad smell coming from the car, leading the police to discover her body.

Police Suspect Murder
Police believe she was murdered, possibly strangled, and her body was then placed in the car, which was abandoned in the hospital parking lot. The body was highly decomposed, and police say the murder likely did not happen at the university campus.

Link to Gangster Threat?
Police are also investigating a possible connection to Canada-based terrorist Arsh Dalla, who had threatened Kanchan last year in October, asking her to stop posting “inappropriate” content online. However, authorities say they are still looking into all possible leads and have not confirmed anything yet.
The police are treating the case very seriously. Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal said they are checking all angles and waiting for the post-mortem report to understand more about how and when she died.
Kanchan, known online as “Queen,” was famous for her bold and controversial videos, often using strong language. She had a large following and had been involved in several online disputes.
Police say they are doing a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind her death and to catch whoever is responsible.
