Puravankara has just added another big win to its name. The company has been picked as the preferred developer for redeveloping eight residential societies in Chembur, Mumbai. This project covers around 4 acres and unlocks a total development potential of over 1.2 million square feet. The total Gross Development Value (GDV) is estimated at Rs 2,100 crore.
This is not just a one-off project. It’s part of a clear strategy.

Earlier, Puravankara had secured key redevelopment rights in Breach Candy, Pali Hill, and Lokhandwala. These are some of Mumbai’s most expensive and premium zones. With Chembur now added to the list, Puravankara is cementing its place as a strong player in the western India redevelopment space.
Ashish Puravankara, the Managing Director of Puravankara Limited, shared his thoughts:
“Winning trust in top Mumbai locations like Breach Candy and now Chembur shows the confidence people have in our brand. What sets us apart is our clear design vision and our promise of quality.”
So far, the group has 11 projects in Mumbai and Pune. Together, these cover around 14 million square feet. Out of this, 3.6 million square feet comes from redevelopment.
The western region is clearly a major focus. The company expects this region to bring in a GDV of nearly Rs 18,000 crore, with Rs 7,700 crore from redevelopment alone. That’s a bold number, and Chembur is now a key piece in that puzzle.
Why is this a big deal?
Because redevelopment is not just about building new towers. It’s about giving old buildings new life. It’s about better homes, safer living, and smarter planning. And in Mumbai, space is gold. That makes every project like this a chance to reshape the city’s future.
Puravankara’s move into Chembur shows how smart developers are not just chasing new land. They are bringing new energy to old spaces. It’s about working with people, gaining trust, and building something better together.
With this project, Puravankara isn’t just building homes. It’s building a legacy in Mumbai’s most valuable neighbourhoods. And it’s doing it with sharp focus and real ambition.
