Thankfully, no one was hurt. However, the sudden collapse caused panic among villagers, who believe that illegal and excessive mining is the real reason behind the incident.
Reports say that it started raining heavily on Tuesday night, and by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the rain picked up again. Soon after, villagers saw strange movements in the hill. Acting quickly, they moved away — just in time. A huge section of the hill fell with a deafening sound, raising a cloud of dust and shaking nearby areas.

Residents say that illegal blasting for mining has been happening in that hill, breaking safety rules. Some people even felt tremors from the landslide in nearby villages. There are also reports that a nearby government school building developed cracks, possibly due to the constant blasting and the landslide.
