A Night to Forget: RCB’s Shaky Batting Hands DC Another Win
In the high-stakes RCB vs DC IPL defeat, Royal Challengers Bengaluru crumbled after a promising start, handing Delhi Capitals a comfortable six-wicket win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Skipper Rajat Patidar didn’t hold back in the post-match presentation. “60 for one, and then 90 for four — that is not acceptable,” he said, clearly disappointed with his side’s effort with the bat.

The Collapse That Cost RCB the Game
RCB looked solid early on. Openers gave a decent start, and the scoreboard read 61/1. But what followed was a shocking collapse. The middle order couldn’t hold on, and the team slumped to 91/4.
Despite Tim David’s late fireworks — a quick 37 that gave the innings some life — RCB only managed 163/7. On a batting-friendly pitch, it wasn’t enough.
Delhi’s Smart Game Plan
Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, played a calm and calculated game. Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam spun a web around RCB’s batters. Using spinners early in the powerplay proved to be a masterstroke by captain Axar Patel.
Patel shared his strategy: “We knew the pitch would slow down. Holding back our pacers and attacking with spin early helped us.”
KL Rahul Turns Up the Heat
Player of the Match KL Rahul anchored the chase beautifully. His unbeaten 93 was a masterclass in pacing an innings. He remained in control throughout and took DC home with 13 balls to spare.
Rahul explained how keeping wickets gave him an edge: “Being behind the stumps for 20 overs gave me a good sense of the pitch. This is my home ground, and I know how to find runs here.”
His performance shows why he remains one of the most dependable batters in the IPL and for India.
Patidar’s Brutally Honest Assessment
Rajat Patidar didn’t mince words. He praised the bowlers for reducing DC to 30/3 early on but admitted the batters didn’t step up when needed.
He credited Tim David’s cameo and acknowledged the pitch played slower than expected. Still, he made it clear: “We didn’t assess conditions well. That hurt us.”
What’s Next for RCB?
RCB needs to fix their middle-order woes if they want to stay in the playoff race. A promising start isn’t enough in the IPL. With key games coming up, time is running out.
Delhi, on the other hand, continues to rise. With four straight wins, their momentum is strong, and confidence is high.
