RCB’s Dream Start in IPL 2025
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have kicked off IPL 2025 in style, winning both their opening matches. First, they crushed defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets, and then they dominated Chennai Super Kings with a massive 50-run victory.
With two wins in a row, RCB currently sits at the top of the points table. Fans are hopeful—could this finally be their year?

Sehwag’s Savage Mockery
However, not everyone is convinced. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, known for his sharp wit, took a playful jab at RCB. Despite their strong start, he humorously called them “gareeb” (poor). But why?

Sehwag clarified, “I’m not talking about money—they earn hundreds of crores. I mean ‘poor’ in terms of trophies!” He added, “Let the poor stay on top for a while, let them take photos. Who knows how long they’ll last?”
RCB has never won an IPL title, a fact that haunts them despite having star players like Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Other teams like Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants also share this unfortunate record.
Next Challenge: Gujarat Titans
Can RCB keep their momentum going? Their next match is against Gujarat Titans, a team known for its strong performances. If RCB wins again, they might just silence critics like Sehwag—at least for now.
