Saiyaara has done what few expected. With fresh faces and an old-school love story, this film has taken over the box office like a storm.
Released on July 18, the movie stars debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. It is produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Mohit Suri. In just a few days, Saiyaara has created multiple records and become the biggest newcomer success in years.

Biggest Opening Day for a Debut Film
On its first day, Saiyaara earned a massive ₹25 crore in India. That’s more than what Dhadak made on Day 1 (₹8.76 crore). In fact, it is the highest Day 1 collection ever for a film led by newcomers.
About 9.75 lakh people watched the film on opening day. That’s almost like filling Wankhede Stadium 20 times.
Advance Booking Frenzy
Before release, Saiyaara sold over 3.8 lakh tickets. It earned ₹9.39 crore in advance bookings. National chains like PVR INOX and Cinepolis sold over 1.38 lakh tickets combined.
This is the highest advance booking for a debut film in more than two decades.

Career Best for Director Mohit Suri
Mohit Suri has made hits like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain. But Saiyaara has given him his biggest opening ever.
With ₹21 crore net on Day 1, it beats Ek Villain (₹16.70 crore), Murder 2, and Aashiqui 2.
Surprisingly, Saiyaara had only 8,000 shows across India. Most big releases have over 18,000. Still, the movie had full houses in many cities.
People showed up. And theatres ran out of tickets.
Top 5 Weekend of 2025
In its first weekend, Saiyaara made ₹83 crore worldwide. It ranked #9 on the global box office chart, beating many big films.
It made more in 3 days than big-budget movies like Sky Force, Raid 2, and Kesari Chapter 2.
It didn’t just open big. It also crossed the total lifetime collection of movies like Maalik, Deva, and even The Diplomat.
Even Metro… In Dino, a star-packed film, couldn’t match Saiyaara’s ₹83 crore.
After the re-release success of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Sanam Teri Kasam, Saiyaara proves that romance still sells.
