A Strong Start for “Sikandar”
Salman Khan’s latest action drama, Sikandar, hit theatres on March 30 and has been making waves at the box office. Despite receiving lukewarm reviews from critics, the film has managed to pull in crowds, thanks to Salman’s massive fan following and the Eid holiday rush.
Box Office Numbers Speak Volumes
The film opened with a solid Rs 26 crore on Day 1. However, Day 2 (Eid) saw an upward trend, with collections jumping to Rs 29 crore. This brings the total earnings to an impressive Rs 55 crore in just two days.

Audience Response:
- Morning shows: 8.38% occupancy
- Afternoon shows: 26.70%
- Evening shows: 30.18%
- Night shows: 33.12%
Clearly, the film gained momentum as the day progressed, proving that Salman’s Eid releases continue to be a crowd-puller.

Critics vs. Audience: A Divided Verdict
While the box office numbers are promising, critics haven’t been as kind. Many called Sikandar a weak addition to Salman’s filmography.
Money Control’s Review:
“Sikandar aims for grandeur but stumbles into mediocrity, offering style without substance and action without impact.”
Despite this, fans seem undeterred, flocking to theatres for Salman’s larger-than-life presence and high-octane action sequences.
What’s Next for “Sikandar”?
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar is still running strong in theatres. With the weekend ahead, the film is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark soon.
Will it sustain the momentum? Only time will tell!
