India is all set to face England in a much-awaited five-match Test series starting June 20. All eyes are on Shubman Gill, who has been named the new Test captain after the retirement of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The 25-year-old Gill, who also leads the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, will now lead Team India in the traditional format of cricket—Test matches. Before the first Test match in Leeds, Gill shared his thoughts with the media.

When a journalist asked him whether winning an IPL title or a Test series in England is more important, Gill gave a clear and bold answer.
“Winning a Test series is definitely more important,” he said. “You don’t get many chances to captain in England. Maybe just two or three in your career, even if you’re among the best. But IPL happens every year, so you always get another chance. That’s why winning a Test series in England, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa is a bigger deal.”
