After Deepika Padukone left the film Spirit, a lot of attention has been drawn to her reason — she wanted to work only 8 hours a day. Being a new mother, Deepika wanted to balance her time between work and family. Her decision has started a bigger conversation in the film industry about work-life balance.

Now, actress Sonakshi Sinha has shared her thoughts on the topic. While promoting her upcoming movie Nikita Roy, which releases on June 27, she told reporters, “I’m all for it.” She explained that she has worked with actors who stick to an 8-hour workday, so she feels female actors should have the same option.
Sonakshi said that with proper planning, it’s possible to manage the shoot within 8 hours. “You can schedule scenes in a way that fits everyone’s time. There are other parts of the shoot that can be done with different actors during that time too,” she added.

The Dabangg actress, who has been in the industry for 15 years, said, “Some actors work more hours, some work less. That’s okay. But everyone needs personal time after work.”
She also pointed out that working for 8 hours gives actors the chance to focus on other important tasks — like training or workouts for a role. “If I don’t have to do all that, I’m happy to work for 10 or 12 hours. But if it’s not needed, then there should be flexibility,” Sonakshi said.
Sonakshi believes that an 8-hour work shift is practical and fair, especially when actors have other responsibilities in life.
