Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Hospital in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday. She went to the hospital because she was feeling restless.
Sonia Gandhi is in Shimla for a private visit and is staying at her family’s private home in Chharabra. She is expected to go back to Delhi on Sunday, June 7.

Doctors at the hospital checked her health carefully. They found her blood pressure was a little high, but she is stable and doing fine.
A senior doctor at the hospital said she came for a routine health check-up because of some minor health problems. The doctors are keeping a close watch on her.
Though the hospital has not made any official statement about her health, security has been increased there.
Some important government officials, like Himachal Pradesh’s health minister Dhani Ram Shandil and chief secretary Prabodh Saxena, have come to the hospital. The Himachal chief minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, was on a trip but returned early to Shimla after hearing the news.
It’s also important to know that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sonia Gandhi’s family member, has a private home in Chharabra where the family often spends time during the summer.
