Passengers on a SpiceJet flight from Pune to Goa were alarmed on Tuesday when a window frame inside the cabin came loose during the flight.
However, the airline quickly confirmed that there was no safety risk. The cabin pressure stayed normal the entire time, and passengers were never in danger.
In a statement, SpiceJet explained that the part that came loose was just a decorative (interior) window frame, not part of the actual window that keeps the plane safe. It was a non-structural piece used mainly for shade.
The airline added that the aircraft, a Q400 model, has several layers of window panes, including a strong outer pane that handles pressure and protects the cabin.
After the flight landed safely, the loose frame was fixed following normal maintenance procedures.
SpiceJet assured everyone that it continues to follow strict safety checks and is committed to high safety standards for all its flights.
