Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) crushed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets on Friday in the Indian Premier League (IPL), with Sunil Narine playing a key role. This was CSK’s fifth straight defeat of the season and their first time losing three home matches in a row at the Chepauk Stadium.
Batting first, CSK had a terrible day. Their team could score only 103 runs for 9 wickets, their lowest score ever at Chepauk and the third lowest in IPL history. It was also the lowest total by any team this season.

The match was special as MS Dhoni was leading the team again after regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out due to injury. But Dhoni couldn’t make an impact, scoring only 1 run before getting out.
Sunil Narine was brilliant with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 13 runs. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy took 2 wickets each. CSK batters struggled and managed to hit only nine boundaries (fours or sixes) in the whole innings. Shivam Dube top-scored with 31 runs, while Vijay Shankar made 29.

In the second half, KKR chased the target of 104 runs easily in just 10.1 overs. Sunil Narine, opening the innings, smashed 44 runs from 18 balls, including five sixes and two fours. He attacked all bowlers from the beginning, especially hitting big shots against Khaleel Ahmed and R Ashwin.
Quinton de Kock supported well with 23 runs, while captain Ajinkya Rahane stayed unbeaten with 20. Rinku Singh finished the game in style with a six.
