Lovable, a Swedish startup that helps people build apps and websites using AI, has just raised $200 million in Series A funding. This massive round comes only 8 months after the company launched. Now, Lovable is Europe’s newest unicorn, valued at $1.8 billion.

Founded in Stockholm, Lovable is growing faster than anyone expected. The platform lets users type simple text commands to create websites or apps — no coding skills needed. That makes it a hit among non-tech users who want to prototype ideas quickly.

2.3 Million Users and $75M in Revenue

Lovable already has 2.3 million users. Most are on the free plan, but the company says it now has 180,000 paying subscribers. That helped it hit $75 million in annual recurring revenue — all in just seven months.

This kind of growth is rare. In February, Lovable had only 30,000 paying users and $17 million in revenue. It has grown more than 4 times since then, with very little money spent on ads or marketing.

Big Investors Back Lovable’s Vision

The $200 million Series A round was led by Accel. Other investors include 20VC, Creandum, byFounders, Hummingbird, and Visionaries Club. Several big-name angel investors also joined the round. These include:

  • Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski
  • Slack co-founder Stewart Butterfield
  • HubSpot co-founder Dharmesh Shah
  • Remote CEO Job van der Voort

Lovable has a very small team — just 45 employees — but they’ve managed to do what some companies can’t do in five years.

Built by Users, Loved by Creators

Most Lovable users are not developers. They are creators, students, and entrepreneurs who want to turn ideas into real apps fast. Lovable lets them build prototypes, which they can later hand off to developers to improve.

So far, people have created over 10 million projects on Lovable. Some of these have already turned into real businesses. One Brazilian edtech company built an app with Lovable that made $3 million in just 48 hours.

Lovable is also being used by big names like Klarna and HubSpot. CEO Anton Osika believes Lovable will soon help anyone launch a business, without needing to hire expensive developers.

The Future of App Building Is Here

With its fast growth and strong backers, Lovable is showing what’s possible when AI tools are made for everyone. It’s not just for techies anymore. Anyone with an idea can now build a working app — and maybe even a company.

Lovable isn’t just another startup. It’s the beginning of a shift — where building software becomes as easy as typing a message.
