The Indian cricket team arrived in Manchester this afternoon by train ahead of the fourth Test against England. However, instead of exiting from the usual platform, the team made a last-minute change in plan. They exited from a back door and had to walk around 300 meters in the rain to reach their team bus.
Captain Shubman Gill was seen with the team, while other players rushed into the bus to avoid getting wet.
Team Training and Injury Update
Before arriving in Manchester, the team stayed back in London after their loss at Lord’s. They had a training session in Beckenham, where all players except KL Rahul were present. While players like Rishabh Pant, Akash Deep, and Mohammed Siraj took it easy, others trained at full intensity.
There is some concern over Arshdeep Singh, who injured his bowling hand during practice. He received stitches and is unlikely to play in the fourth Test. Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate said the medical team is monitoring him closely.
Practice in Manchester
India will now begin their training at Old Trafford in Manchester. The first practice session will be held privately with no media access. On July 21, the morning session will be open to the media, followed by an afternoon session on July 22.
Weather Forecast
Manchester is cooler than London and has seen regular drizzles. Light showers are expected during the match days, but nothing serious is expected for now. Still, English weather can be unpredictable.
