Tecno has just dropped something big — literally. On July 17, 2025, the Chinese smartphone brand unveiled its Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept, a tri-fold smartphone that can turn into a giant 9.94-inch display. And yes, it’s making waves.
This concept phone is not just another foldable. It folds twice. The Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept starts at just 3.49mm when fully opened and goes up to 11.49mm when closed. It’s sleek, futuristic, and bold — Tecno isn’t holding back anymore.
This is foldable, reimagined.
TECNO PHANTOM Ultimate G Fold debuts as the world’s thinnest tri-fold — 11.49mm folded, 3.49mm unfolded. Bold design. Limitless possibilities. pic.twitter.com/dBAdtDkGC4— tecnomobile (@tecnomobile) July 17, 2025
What’s so cool about it?
The phone has what Tecno calls a G-Style design. That means the screen folds inward two times. Why? To protect the display. When it’s not in use, the screen stays hidden and safe from scratches or damage. That’s smart.
It uses a dual-hinge system. One is a small waterdrop hinge, and the other is a larger main hinge. When you fold it, the right side of the screen folds like a book. Then the bigger hinge flips the rest over. It’s like origami, but for your pocket.

Hands-free and stylish
Another nice touch: the phone can hover at different angles. This is because of the custom dual-camera design placed on the hinge. You can use it partly folded, like a mini-laptop or tent mode. Perfect for multitasking or video calls.
The Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept will also come with a triple-camera system and a battery that’s more than 5,000mAh. That’s enough juice to last all day even with that big screen.
Not Tecno’s first foldable rodeo
Last year, Tecno showed off the Phantom Ultimate 2, another tri-fold concept at MWC 2025. Now with the G Fold Concept, they’re going even further.
And the big reveal? It will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026. This phone isn’t just a prototype — it’s a statement.
For a long time, brands like Samsung and Huawei dominated the foldable market. Now, Tecno is saying: “We’re in too.” With bold moves like this, Tecno could soon become a top name in premium smartphones.
