About The Diplomat
Directed by Shivam Nair, known for Naam Shabana, the film stars John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb. It is based on the real-life story of Uzma Ahmad, an Indian woman who was rescued from Pakistan in 2017. Uzma was allegedly tricked into going to Pakistan by a man who promised to marry her but later forced her into marriage at gunpoint and mistreated her.
John Abraham plays the role of JP Singh, the Indian diplomat who led the rescue mission to bring Uzma back home safely.
Movie Review
The film is gripping but could have been executed better. The review gave it 3.5 stars and praised its action-packed second half. Unlike many thrillers that slow down after the interval, The Diplomat keeps the tension high with car chases and intense moments. The final rescue scene, where Uzma crosses the India-Pakistan border to return home, provides a satisfying ending.
Overall, The Diplomat has started well and will need to maintain strong numbers in the coming days to succeed at the box office.
