Former U.S. President Donald Trump is not shy. He recently said he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Not just once, but four or five times!
In his own words:
“They should give me the Nobel Prize for Rwanda, Congo, Serbia… The big one is India-Pakistan. I should have gotten it 4–5 times. Abraham Accords would have been a good one. They won’t give me. They only give it to liberals.”

That’s right—Trump is upset that the Nobel Peace Prize hasn’t come his way. And he’s made it very clear on social media and in speeches.

Which Places Is He Talking About?
Trump listed several world conflicts where he says he helped bring peace. Let’s break it down:
- Rwanda and Congo – Talks are happening, but no final peace deal yet.
- Serbia and Kosovo – Some progress was made, but no full peace agreement.
- India and Pakistan – Trump says he helped stop a fight. But India strongly says, “No, he didn’t.”
- Israel and Arab nations (Abraham Accords) – These deals did happen. They were real and signed in 2020. But the countries weren’t actually at war.
So, has Trump made peace around the world? He says yes. But other countries and experts are not so sure.
Why Does Trump Think He Deserves It?
Trump believes his work is being ignored because of politics. He says the Nobel Peace Prize committee only gives awards to “liberals”—people from the other side of the political spectrum.
In 2009, President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump didn’t like that. He often compares himself to Obama and says he has done more for peace.
What Is the Nobel Peace Prize Anyway?
The Nobel Peace Prize is given every year to a person or group that works hard for peace in the world. That can mean:
- Stopping wars
- Helping countries talk instead of fight
- Supporting human rights or disarmament (like getting rid of nuclear weapons)
Past winners include:
- Theodore Roosevelt – For ending a war between Russia and Japan
- Jimmy Carter – For decades of peace and human rights work
- Malala Yousafzai – For fighting for girls’ education
- Barack Obama – For improving diplomacy and talking about nuclear peace
So, it’s not just about making a deal. It’s about lasting peace and hard work over time.
So, Will Trump Get the Nobel?
Maybe. Maybe not. The Nobel Committee is very private. They don’t talk about nominations. And Trump has been nominated before—by a Norwegian lawmaker, for the Abraham Accords.
But most of his other peace claims aren’t confirmed. Some are still ongoing. Others are denied by the countries involved.
Even Trump’s own former security advisor, John Bolton, said:
“He wants the Nobel because Obama got one.”
Ouch.
In the End…
Trump may really believe he’s a peacemaker. And some of his deals, like the Abraham Accords, are worth talking about. But the Nobel Peace Prize is not about making big claims or listing deals on social media. It’s about real peace, lasting change, and quiet hard work—often behind the scenes.
Until then, Trump is still waiting. But one thing’s for sure: He won’t stop talking about it.
