The 14-year-old from Samastipur, Bihar — who had amazed everyone with a lightning-fast 101 off just 28 balls against Gujarat Titans — was dismissed without scoring this time. Facing just two balls, Vaibhav tried to play a big shot off Deepak Chahar’s full delivery but ended up giving a simple catch to Will Jacks at mid-on. The stadium went silent in shock as the young batter walked back to the pavilion.
Rajasthan Royals’ head coach Rahul Dravid, who had previously celebrated Vaibhav’s century by standing up from his wheelchair, looked clearly upset in the dugout.

On the other side, Mumbai Indians took full advantage of the good batting pitch. Their openers, Rohit Sharma (53 off 36) and Ryan Rickelton (61 off 38), gave their team a strong start with a 116-run partnership. Rohit attacked the spinners, especially Maheesh Theekshana, while Rickelton played the fast bowlers with confidence.
Later, Suryakumar Yadav and captain Hardik Pandya added to the strong start by smashing unbeaten 48 runs each, both from just 23 balls. Thanks to their powerful batting, Mumbai Indians reached a huge total of 217 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets after being asked to bat first.
