VinFast is finally entering the Indian market. The Vietnamese electric vehicle company will open pre-bookings for its first two EV SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, on 15 July. These new electric SUVs are bold, stylish, and ready to shake up India’s EV scene.
This isn’t just a soft launch. VinFast is coming in strong. The company plans to open 35 dealerships across India by the end of 2025. It has already tied up with 13 dealer groups to build its first retail and service network.

The first showrooms will appear in major EV cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Cochin, and Ahmedabad. They’re also entering emerging EV hubs like Gwalior, Trivandrum, Agra, Vapi, and Shimla. That’s not just a rollout — that’s a full-on invasion.
VF 6: Compact but Punchy
The VinFast VF 6 will take on cars like the MG Windsor EV Pro and the upcoming Hyundai Creta Electric. It is expected to come in two variants. Both will feature a front-mounted electric motor delivering 201bhp and 310Nm.
The VF 6 packs a 59.6kWh battery and promises a range of up to 440km. It’s built for city drivers and young professionals who want clean looks, smooth tech, and zero tailpipe emissions.
VF 7: Bigger Battery, Bigger Boldness
Sitting above the VF 6 is the VinFast VF 7, a mid-size electric SUV. It gets a larger 75.3kWh battery and an estimated range of over 450km. Its main competition? The stylish BYD Atto 3.
But this isn’t just about specs. The VF 7 stands out with sharp lines, a futuristic cabin, and a huge touchscreen. It’s made for those who want presence and performance.
We Drove Them — And They Impress
Our team got a chance to drive the VF 6 and VF 7 in Vietnam. Both SUVs felt ready for India. The cabin design is minimal and clean, with a big infotainment screen at the center. The exterior design is bold and premium, something that’ll turn heads on Indian roads.
VinFast has clearly done its homework. The suspension feels tuned for comfort. The interiors are practical. And the tech? Slick and smooth.
With charging infrastructure, service backing, and dealership support, it is entering India with confidence.
India’s EV market is growing fast. But it needs more stylish, high-range, affordable electric SUVs. VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 might just be what the segment needs.
