Hera Pheri 3 has landed in legal trouble, and not the comic kind we’re used to. Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, has sent a ₹25 crore legal notice to co-star Paresh Rawal for allegedly walking out of the film after taking ₹11 lakh as a signing amount.
This isn’t a plot twist fans wanted. It’s a real-life fallout that could stall one of Bollywood’s most beloved franchises. What does this mean for fans? Possibly, no reunion of the OG trio—Akshay, Suniel, and Paresh—as Baburao might have officially exited the scene.

Let’s break it down.
What happened?
Paresh Rawal reportedly accepted ₹11 lakh for signing Hera Pheri 3. He also shot a teaser on April 3, participated in script discussions, and publicly confirmed his involvement in a January 30 post on X (formerly Twitter). A term sheet was signed on March 27, sealing his commitment.
But in a sudden twist, Rawal backed out. Akshay’s team claims he didn’t raise any concerns during the shoot or creative sessions.
His exit came without warning and caused a huge disruption. According to the production house, the decision led to major financial loss, schedule issues, and a hit to the franchise’s goodwill.

Why the ₹25 crore demand?
Cape of Good Films says the amount covers production losses, promotional expenses, and damaged brand reputation. They also claim Rawal’s exit wasn’t due to “creative issues” as he later stated publicly, but was a calculated move that blindsided the team.
On May 18, Paresh confirmed his exit online. But things escalated fast—by May 20, he received a legal notice demanding the damages be paid within 7 days. If not, civil and criminal action will follow.
Meanwhile, both Suniel Shetty and director Priyadarshan reportedly told media they were unaware of Rawal’s exit—raising more eyebrows about how sudden the move really was.
So, who’s right?
Legally, Rawal’s contract and participation in shoot are on record. Morally? Bollywood’s brotherhood seems more fragile than ever.

The bigger picture
Hera Pheri 3 was expected to bring nostalgia back. Instead, it’s giving fans courtroom drama. While the first two films remain iconic, this mess proves one thing—real-life Bollywood is sometimes stranger (and messier) than its scripts.
