The much-awaited Hera Pheri 3 has hit a major roadblock. Paresh Rawal, a key actor, has walked out of the project, causing a legal fight. Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape Of Good Films, sued him for Rs 25 crore after Rawal announced his exit on social media on May 18.
Paresh Rawal claimed in a Mid-Day interview that he informed director Priyadarshan and other actors before quitting. Priyadarshan strongly denied this.

The director said Rawal never told him personally and only sent a message after the public announcement. He said, “Paresh texted me, ‘Please don’t call me. This is my decision.’”
The tension runs deeper. Priyadarshan revealed Akshay Kumar was visibly upset. “Akshay had tears in his eyes when he asked me, ‘Why is Paresh doing this to us?’” Priyadarshan said. Akshay had recently bought the film franchise rights, so this exit hits him hard financially.

Rumors say Paresh left because he was unhappy with his pay. Rawal confirmed quitting but denied it was about “creative differences.” Priyadarshan expressed hurt and shock. They recently worked together on another film, Bhooth Bangla. “Paresh could have just called me before telling the media,” the director said.
To add fuel, Priyadarshan supports Akshay’s legal action, emphasizing that all contracts were signed, and shooting had started just days before. “Akshay shouldn’t suffer financial losses because Paresh walked out on a whim,” he added.
Hera Pheri 3 is the sequel to the famous 2000 hit Hera Pheri. The second film came out in 2006. This third part was announced in 2023 with Priyadarshan as the director. Now, its future looks uncertain.
For fans, this saga is disappointing. The chemistry of the original cast was a major draw. The split hints at deeper issues behind the scenes. Hopefully, the makers find a way to move forward.
