To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Google has announced some exciting new features for YouTube. These changes will improve YouTube TV, YouTube Music, and YouTube on TVs.
One of the biggest updates is the ability to create custom multiviews on YouTube TV. Multiview, which lets you watch multiple channels at once, was first introduced during the 2023 NCAA basketball tournament. Until now, users could only choose from pre-set multiview options. But soon, YouTube TV subscribers will be able to create their own custom multiview setups, including for non-sports content. This feature will be available in the next few weeks, though it might need to be turned on manually. At first, it will be available with a small group of popular channels, with more channels added over time.

Another new feature is an upgrade for the YouTube app on TVs. The update will make navigation easier, improve video playback quality, and give quicker access to comments, channel info, and the subscribe button.

For YouTube Premium and YouTube Music users, a new feature called “Ask Music” is being introduced. This will allow users to get personalized radio stations based on the music they’re in the mood for, available on Android and iOS. Plus, YouTube Premium subscribers will soon have the option to speed up videos to 4x their normal speed.
These features are already rolling out, and more updates will be coming soon!
