On the same day, two Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft met with accidents. A Jaguar fighter jet crashed shortly after taking off from Ambala airbase in Haryana, while an AN-32 transport plane crash-landed in Bagdogra, West Bengal.

Thankfully, in both cases, the aircrew ejected safely and were unharmed, officials confirmed. The Jaguar crashed due to a technical issue, but the cause of the AN-32 crash is still unknown.

In a statement, the IAF said the Jaguar experienced a system malfunction during a routine training flight. “The pilot ensured the aircraft was steered away from residential areas before safely ejecting,” the statement added.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has ordered an investigation to find out what caused the Jaguar fighter jet to crash. The accident happened around 3:45 PM after the aircraft took off from Ambala airbase, officials said.

The pilot managed to steer the plane away from residential areas, ensuring no one on the ground was harmed. The aircraft crashed in a hilly forest area near Raipur Rani in Haryana’s Panchkula district.
