Pixel 9a Launch Today! Hidden Features & Price Shock

Google is set to launch its new budget-friendly smartphone, the Pixel 9a, today, March 19. While the company hasn’t officially announced details yet, multiple leaks suggest that the launch will happen today, and the phone might go on sale starting March 26.

Just before the launch, a leaked unboxing video surfaced online on Monday, showing the phone and its features. However, since these details are not officially confirmed, we should take them with a pinch of salt. But many of these leaks match previous reports, making them more likely to be true.

Pixel 9a: Expected Price in India

The Pixel 9a is rumored to cost $499 (about ₹43,100) for the 128GB model and $599 (around ₹51,800) for the 256GB version in the US. If Google follows its past pricing, the Pixel 9a could start at ₹52,999 in India, with the higher storage model costing around ₹64,000.

It may come in four colors: Iris, Obsidian, Peony, and Porcelain for the 128GB version, while the 256GB model might be available only in Iris and Obsidian.

Pixel 9a: Leaked Features and Specifications

The Pixel 9a is expected to bring many upgrades over its predecessor, the Pixel 8a.

  • Design: A recent unboxing video suggests Google is changing its traditional design. The Pixel 9a may have a flat rear panel with no big camera bump, making it look sleeker. The frame could be flat like iPhones, but the phone might still have thick bezels around its 6.3-inch AMOLED display, which some users may not like.

  • Display: The screen is expected to support a 120Hz refresh rate and have Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

  • Performance: The phone will likely run on Google’s Tensor G4 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage. It will also feature Google’s Titan M2 security chip.

  • Cameras: The Pixel 9a is rumored to have a 48MP main camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. Leaks suggest the camera performance is quite good.

  • Durability: The phone is expected to have an IP68 rating, meaning it will be water and dust-resistant.

  • Battery and Charging: The Pixel 9a is likely to feature a 5,100mAh battery, bigger than the 4,500mAh battery in the Pixel 8a. It may support 23W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging.
