Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, the two accused in the murder of merchant navy employee Saurabh Rajput, are facing severe drug addiction issues in jail. Both of them are going through withdrawal symptoms, refusing to eat, and demanding drugs like marijuana and morphine. They are currently held in separate barracks in Meerut District Jail.

Severe Drug Dependency

A jail official, speaking anonymously, said their drug addiction is serious. Extra precautions have been taken to ensure they don’t harm themselves or others.

Muskan and Sahil were arrested for brutally killing Saurabh on March 4. They stabbed him, cut his body into pieces, and hid it in a drum filled with cement. After committing the crime, they went to Himachal Pradesh, where they played Holi, cut a cake, and took pictures. They returned to Meerut on March 17, where they were later arrested.

Withdrawal Symptoms in Jail

After being sent to jail, Muskan’s health started worsening on the very first night. Doctors diagnosed her with severe drug addiction and began urgent treatment.

Sahil, on the other hand, created chaos in the jail, demanding drugs. He became extremely restless without marijuana, while Muskan asked for morphine injections. Officials confirmed that both had been regular users of injectable drugs, which is why they are now facing severe withdrawal symptoms.

The jail’s de-addiction center has started their treatment, and medical staff are constantly monitoring them. Due to withdrawal, they have also refused to eat, which is common in such cases. Officials estimate that it may take at least ten days before they start stabilizing.
