Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face off on Wednesday at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium. Both teams lost their opening matches and will be eager to get their first win of the season.
KKR suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while RR lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 44 runs. Though it’s still early in the tournament, both teams want to fix their mistakes and get back on track.
KKR bowling coach Bharat Arun admitted that his team could have performed better in their last match. “We needed to score more runs and improve our bowling. There are always lessons to learn,” he said.

Although KKR is the away team, Arun jokingly said that Guwahati feels like a second home since it is close to Kolkata. However, RR’s stand-in captain Riyan Parag, who is from Assam, believes the home crowd will support his team. “I don’t think KKR has any Bengali players, but as an Assamese, I hope to get more support here,” Parag said.
Both teams need to make improvements to win. Rajasthan’s bowlers struggled against Hyderabad, especially against Ishan Kishan, who scored a century, and Travis Head. KKR, on the other hand, will look for better performances from Rinku Singh and their mystery spinner, Varun Chakravarthy.
