Is the iPhone 17 Pro’s Camera Island Too Big? Apple’s bold move is sure to turn heads—discover the shocking details!

Apple iPhone 17 Pro May Have a Big Camera Design

The upcoming iPhone 17 Pro could feature a huge camera island on the back. This camera area will likely be the same color as the rest of the phone, rather than having a two-tone design like some earlier rumors suggested. It looks like this camera island might take up about one-third of the phone’s back panel.

While there were earlier expectations of major design changes for the iPhone 17 series, including a dual-tone back or a smaller dynamic island, it seems the Pro models won’t look very different from the current ones. However, the camera design will be noticeably different. Leaked phone cases show a large, horizontal camera bar on the back, which aligns with previous reports.

In fact, this could be the first time in years that an iPhone has looked much different from its predecessor, especially since the iPhone 11. Apple analyst Mark Gurman had earlier predicted that the iPhone 17 Pro models might not have a bold new design, but he agreed that the camera will look “meaningfully different.”

The camera upgrades don’t stop at design. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with a focal length of 85mm. This will replace the current 12-megapixel telephoto lens with a 120mm focal length seen on the iPhone 16 Pro models. However, the new telephoto lens will have a 3.5x optical zoom compared to the current 5x zoom.

Despite the reduced optical zoom, the iPhone 17 Pro could still offer up to 7x “lossless” digital zoom using advanced technology to crop the sensor. This should result in better performance, especially in low-light situations, and improve portrait shots. In addition, all three rear cameras (main, ultra-wide, and telephoto) will likely feature 48-megapixel sensors for the first time.

Lastly, the selfie camera will also see an upgrade. The front-facing TrueDepth sensor is expected to move from 12 megapixels to 24 megapixels, improving the quality of photos taken with the front camera.
