Ira Khan, the daughter of actor Aamir Khan, has shared that she once felt “useless” because she wasn’t earning money at the age of 27. Although she chose not to follow in her father’s footsteps into Bollywood, Ira has been focusing on theatre and philanthropy. Despite her efforts, she felt guilty for not financially contributing, which caused her frustration a few years ago.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ira explained how she felt at the time: “At 26 or 27, my parents have spent so much on me, and I feel like I’m not doing anything useful.” Aamir Khan clarified that Ira was referring to not making money at the time, before she started the Agatsu Foundation, a mental health support NGO.
However, Aamir Khan reassured Ira by saying that for him, the money didn’t matter. He told her, “Whether you’re earning money or not, that’s not important to me. What matters is the good work you’re doing.” He emphasized that money is just a piece of paper and that the meaningful work she was doing was what truly mattered.
Ira Khan is the daughter of Aamir and his first wife, Reena Dutta. She is married to Nupur Shikhare, her long-time partner. Aamir Khan is currently working on a film titled Sitaare Zameen Par, which is a spiritual sequel to his 2008 film Taare Zameen Par. The cast and release date of the movie have not been announced yet.
