Witnesses described seeing thick smoke billowing from the lake after the unidentified cylindrical object plunged into its waters. Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and retrieved the debris, which has been sent for forensic analysis to determine whether it was a missile, drone, or another type of projectile.
In a related development, authorities recovered a second suspicious object from Lasjan, a residential area on the outskirts of Srinagar, deepening concerns about the nature of the incident. Experts are examining whether the two objects are linked.
While officials remain tight-lipped, the event has sparked alarm among residents, recalling past instances of aerial threats in the region, including drone-dropped payloads and cross-border shelling.
