On Sunday morning, the Amritsar District Collector issued warnings to the public, saying, “Power has been restored, but we are still on red alert. Sirens will sound to indicate the alert. Please stay inside and keep away from windows. We will let you know when it’s safe to go outside. Don’t panic, and follow the instructions.”

Earlier, at 4:39 am, another message urged people to turn off their lights and avoid going out on the streets, balconies, or rooftops. “For your safety, please stay indoors, turn off the lights, and move away from the windows. Don’t go outside. We will inform you when it’s safe to resume normal activities,” the message said.

This increased alert in Amritsar follows a statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday, accusing Pakistan of violating an agreement between the military operations heads of both countries. India confirmed that its military is responding firmly to these provocations.

Vikram Misri, India’s Foreign Secretary, said, “Pakistan’s actions violate the agreement made earlier today. Our armed forces are taking strong action against these violations. We expect Pakistan to take responsibility for these actions and handle the situation seriously.”

The situation along the border remains tense as security forces closely monitor the situation. However, no incidents have been reported in Amritsar yet.
