India announced that more than 100 terrorists were killed in air and ground strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) during a military operation called Operation Sindoor.
The operation was launched on May 7 in response to a deadly terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which killed 26 people and injured many others.

During a press briefing on Sunday, Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai, the Director General of Military Operations, said that nine major terror targets were selected after detailed planning. Precision weapons were used to carry out the strikes. He also confirmed that key terrorists, including Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed, were killed in the operation.
Top military officers including Air Marshal AK Bharti, Vice Admiral AN Pramod, and Major General SS Sharda also participated in the press briefing.
Lt. Gen. Ghai added that the Pakistan Army lost 35 to 40 soldiers between May 7 and May 10 during the clashes between both sides.

India-Pakistan Tensions
India and Pakistan were engaged in four days of intense fighting, the worst in nearly 30 years, using missiles and drones against each other’s military positions. Although both countries agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday after pressure from the United States, fresh explosions were reported in border towns just hours later. India accused Pakistan of breaking the agreement.
