‘Prasann Ho?’ — The Question That Shook Virat Kohli After His Retirement

Just 24 hours after announcing the end of his 14-year-long red-ball journey, Virat Kohli was seen in Vrindavan with wife Anushka Sharma.

The couple visited the Shri Hit Radha Keil Kunj Ashram and held a spiritual conversation—Ekantik Vartalaap—with revered spiritual leader Shri Hit Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj.

This was the couple’s second visit to the ashram this year. In January, they arrived with their children.

This time, it was just the two of them—perhaps seeking clarity, peace, or simply a space without stadiums and scoreboards.

In a video that quickly went viral, the Maharaj is heard asking Kohli, “Prasanna ho?” (Are you happy?). Kohli responded, “Ji, abhi thik hain” (Yes, I’m okay). You could almost hear the weight of that word—okay. Not thrilled. Not sad. Just… steady.

That’s the thing about Virat. His battles weren’t just on pitches abroad—they were inside too. And lately, he’s been rewriting what victory looks like. Less roar, more resolve.

Anushka, deeply engaged in the discussion, asked Maharaj Ji if chanting God’s name helps. His reply was simple: Yes. The couple then received blessings from him.

Maharaj Ji’s advice?
Live fully in the world, but without the craving for applause. “Let the prayer be, ‘Lord, I’ve lived many lives. Now I seek only You.’”

That hits different when it’s coming from someone whose every move has been dissected on TV.

This isn’t a PR stunt. It’s a pattern.

From visiting Neem Karoli Baba’s ashram to the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain last year, Kohli and Anushka’s spiritual journey has been consistent—and clearly personal. They’re not cashing in on hashtags. They’re quietly cashing out of chaos.

And as Kohli walks away from Tests with 9,230 runs, 30 centuries, and 40 wins as captain—he’s also walking toward something else. Call it healing. Call it growth. Or maybe it’s just peace, the kind that doesn’t trend.

Because sometimes the bravest move isn’t chasing a target—it’s learning how to be still.
