U.S. President Donald Trump announced a big deal between the United States and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) worth over $200 billion. Part of this deal includes Etihad Airways ordering 28 new airplanes from Boeing, a major American plane maker, for $14.5 billion. These planes will have engines made by GE Aerospace.

The White House said this deal strengthens the partnership between the UAE and the U.S. in aviation and supports American manufacturing and exports.

Etihad currently has about 100 airplanes. The airline’s CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, said they plan to add 20 to 22 new planes this year and grow their total fleet to over 170 planes by 2030. This is part of Abu Dhabi’s plan to boost its economy.

Some of the new planes arriving this year include Airbus A321LRs, which they started flying recently, as well as Airbus A350s and Boeing 787s.

Also, during Trump’s visit to the Gulf, Boeing made another huge deal with Qatar Airways for 160 planes, with an option to buy 50 more, worth $96 billion.
