At the recent Niti Aayog meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set a clear and bold vision for India’s future. He urged the Centre and all states to unite and work like a true Team India to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047.

The meeting, held on May 24, 2025, focused on “Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047” — a goal that captures the hopes of all 140 crore Indians.

PM Modi explained that progress cannot wait for 2047 alone. Every state, city, town, and village must develop rapidly.

When every part of India becomes Viksit (developed), the entire country will shine as a Viksit Bharat. The key, he said, is faster development powered by teamwork between the Centre and states. As Modi put it, “No goal is impossible if we work together like Team India.”

This is no empty slogan.

The Prime Minister pushed for practical steps, like states developing at least one global-standard tourist destination. This “One State: One Global Destination” idea is smart.

It boosts tourism and helps nearby cities grow too. More tourists mean more jobs and better infrastructure. Win-win.

Urban growth also got attention. India is urbanizing fast, and Modi stressed building “future-ready cities.” He wants growth, innovation, and sustainability to drive this change.

The message is clear: India’s cities must be places where modern life and green living go hand in hand.

Another important focus was women’s participation in the workforce. Modi emphasized the power of Nari Shakti (women’s strength). He called for laws and policies that integrate women respectfully and fully into work life. Because a developed India must be an inclusive India.

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi chairs the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today on the theme, Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047.

But if they don’t, well, we all know how cricket fans feel about dropped catches. Thankfully, Modi’s call is for a team that’s ready to win big.

This is the 10th Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog, the think tank guiding India’s development. The council includes all chief ministers and Union Territory leaders, making it the perfect forum for this “Team India” approach.

The goal is to set bold, long-term plans with clear timelines that reflect local realities and national ambitions.
