An IndiGo flight flying to Ranchi had to make an emergency landing on Monday after hitting a bird, officials said. There were 175 passengers on the plane. Everyone is safe, and the plane landed without any problems, officials told the news agency PTI. The plane was flying at about 4,000 feet when a vulture hit it and caused some damage, officials said.

R R Maurya, Director of Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, said, “The bird hit happened when the plane was 10 to 12 nautical miles from Ranchi, flying between 3,000 to 4,000 feet high. The flight came from Patna and was going to Ranchi. The pilot safely made an emergency landing.”
He added that all passengers are safe. The plane got a dent from the bird hit, and engineers are now checking the damage.
The incident happened at 1:14 pm.
Another official said the plane was supposed to go to Kolkata after Ranchi.
