Alia Bhatt recently shared a behind-the-scenes vlog from her Cannes Film Festival debut on her official YouTube channel. While fans loved her stunning red carpet look, something unexpected in the video caught everyone’s attention — a message on her hotel’s screen that addressed her as “Alia Kapoor.”
This message has sparked rumours online that Alia might have legally changed her name after marrying actor Ranbir Kapoor.

The moment was noticed by Reddit users, who shared a screenshot of the message. One user pointed out, “Hotels usually use the name from official booking documents, which means this could be her legal name now.” Others said maybe it was just a hotel mistake, but some argued that it’s unlikely for a hotel to make such an error with a celebrity guest.
Fans are now divided over the idea of her name change. Some say it’s her personal choice, while others feel she should continue using “Alia Bhatt” because it’s a strong brand name now. One fan said, “She’ll always be Alia Bhatt to me — that name has weight now.”
Another fan recalled her appearance on Koffee With Karan, where she said her name might become “Alia Bhatt Kapoor”, and Ranveer Singh even said it “has a nice ring to it.”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married in April 2022. They met during the shoot of their film Brahmastra and welcomed their daughter, Raha, in November the same year.
