Air India

The Air India tragedy in Ahmedabad has left over 200 people dead. It’s a huge shock to everyone. Amid this tragedy, a Vedic astrologer, Sharmishtha, is under heavy criticism. Why? She made a post about her “prediction” just a few days before the incident.

This has made many people angry. They say it’s insensitive and unfair to use a tragedy to promote your own practice. The Air India flight was meant to be a routine journey. But it turned into a nightmare.

Instead of honoring the victims, this astrologer chose to say, “I predicted it.” That feels unfair, insensitive, and pure marketing. It disregards the real suffering of 200 families who lost their members in the Air India tragedy.

Inside the Air India “Prediction” Row

Sharmishtha first tweeted, “It’s very unfortunate we lost so many lives in Air India today.” But then she quickly added, “Jupiter is yet to enter Ardra… much has already started.”

Earlier, in December 2024, she predicted trouble for the aviation industry in 2025. And just a week before the Air India tragedy, she tweeted about “destruction” in the industry.

It is very unfortunate that we lost so many lives in Air India crash in Ahmedabad today. Jupiter is yet to enter Ardra, and India’s Mars Mahadasha is yet to begin—yet so much has already started. So many taggings, so many RTs, I’m unable to reply to everyone. Apologies for that.… https://t.co/OMMkUIaxTk

Some say it’s pure coincidence. Others say it’s a clever way to grab attention when everyone is already talking about Air India.

Public Outrage Against Air India Prediction

People on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to respond.
One person said: “With due respect, people have died. It’s not a time for your celestial stories.”
Another tweeted: “Did you predict 250 people all having the same kundli?”

Some called it a marketing tactic and demanded an end to this practice. There’s a shared feeling: tragedy should bring unity, not controversy.

This Air India tragedy is a painful moment for everyone. It highlights a few things. First, we need more compassion. Second, we shouldn’t use tragedy to promote ourselves. The main focus should be on the victims, their families, and improving flight safety.
