The Air India flight, called AI159, was supposed to take off from Ahmedabad at 1:10 pm on Tuesday. But during a routine check-up, engineers noticed a technical problem. So Air India made a tough call — the flight was canceled immediately to keep everyone safe.

This cancellation comes less than a week after a terrible Air India crash in Ahmedabad. The June 12 incident involved a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft went down soon after takeoff, killing 270 people on board and injured a survivor sitting in seat 11A. It was a painful moment for Air India and for the whole country.

Air India: Rising Above Tough Times

This isn’t the first hiccup Air India has faced recently. Just days after the tragedy, a San Francisco–Mumbai flight was forced to land in Kolkata due to an engine snag.

An Air India Express flight from Delhi to Ranchi turned back shortly after takeoff due to a technical problem. A flight from Hong Kong to Delhi also returned back due to a suspected malfunction.

Despite these problems, Air India is proud and strong. The airline is not ignoring the issues; it’s addressing them head-on. Air India immediately grounded 12 of its 34 Boeing 787s for checks, and all were cleared safely afterwards.

Air India Takes Action

Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol announced a high-level multidisciplinary committee to investigate these events. The committee will submit its report within 3 months. Air India is not sitting back — it’s investigating every incident to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Meanwhile, the airline is helping the families of the victims from the June 12 tragedy. So far, authorities have identified 119 people through DNA matching and handed over 76 bodies to their relatives. It’s a painful process, but Air India is offering all the help it can.

Air India’s Future Will Be Safe and Bright

Aviation experts say Air India must learn from these events and make sure the future is much safer. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture is already investigating. Officials from DGCA, BCAS, and Air India will appear before the committee soon.

The world is watching. But Air India is a proud airline. It’s not finished. It’s going to fly high again — safely and responsibly — honoring those we lost and protecting future journeys.
