In a terrifying incident caught on camera, a truck was left hanging in mid-air after a bridge collapsed in China’s Guizhou province. The accident happened on the morning of June 24 after heavy rains caused a landslide.
The collapsed bridge was part of the Xiamen-Chengdu Expressway in Zunyi city. The truck was moving along the bridge when the ground beneath it gave way. The front of the truck ended up dangling over the edge, creating a dramatic and scary scene.
Driver Shares His Frightening Experience
The truck driver, You Guochun, said that as he was driving, he suddenly felt the road sink. He hit the brakes, but the truck kept moving forward. “Suddenly, the bridge in front of me was just gone. I was frozen in fear,” he told Shanghai Eye.
Quick Rescue
Emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters used a ladder to safely bring the driver down from the roof of the truck. Thankfully, he was rescued without any injuries.
