Experts say that shallow earthquakes (ones that happen closer to the surface) like this can be more dangerous because they cause stronger shaking on the ground. However, in this case, no harm was reported.

Nepal is a country that often experiences earthquakes. This is because it lies on the boundary of two big tectonic plates – the Indian and Eurasian plates. The Indian plate is slowly moving under the Eurasian plate, which causes pressure to build up and leads to earthquakes. This same movement is also the reason why the Himalayan mountains are rising.

Nepal has seen many earthquakes in the past, including the powerful and tragic one in 2015.
