JSW MG Motor is ready to level up. After making its name in the mass electric car market, the company is now entering the premium EV space. Two new electric cars — the M9 MPV and the Cyberster roadster — are coming soon, and this time, it’s all about style, speed, and range.

New Models, Bigger Dreams

The M9, a luxury MPV, and the Cyberster, a bold convertible, are the company’s newest weapons in India’s EV race. Prices for both will be revealed within the next few weeks. First up is the M9, followed by the Cyberster.

These two cars will be sold through a fresh dealership network called MG Select, starting with 14 outlets in 13 cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

Built for India, Styled for the World

The M9 will be shipped to India in parts (CKD) and assembled at JSW MG’s Halol plant in Gujarat. Its suspension and ground clearance are already tweaked for Indian roads. With a powerful 245 PS motor and 90 kWh battery, it’s expected to give over 500 km range on a full charge.

On the other hand, the Cyberster will arrive fully built (CBU). It’s a beast with 510 PS of power and a 77 kWh battery, targeting a range of 400–500 km.

Backed by Strong Sales Growth

JSW MG Motor already has successful EVs like the ZS EV, Comet EV, and Windsor EV. Launched in 2020, the ZS EV made a strong entry. Then came the tiny Comet EV in 2023. But the real winner was the Windsor EV in 2024. In just a few months, it sold nearly 30,000 units.

Thanks to these models, the company’s EV sales jumped 158% year-on-year, from 11,683 in FY24 to 30,162 in FY25, according to FADA. Market share also doubled — from 12.77% to 28.44%.

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. A source close to the company said JSW MG is watching demand closely and will expand the MG Select network if needed. More dealerships, more reach, more power.

JSW MG Motor is not just following the EV trend. It’s pushing the limits. With premium models, better tech, and a bold retail plan, the brand is clearly playing a bigger game. And in this game, India is the main stage.
