‘Off the Rails’ and ‘Train Wreck’: Trump Blasts Musk’s ‘Ridiculous’ Third Party Idea

Donald Trump is not happy. Once close to Elon Musk, the US President is now attacking him for what he calls a “ridiculous” idea — starting a new political party.

Over the weekend, Trump blasted Musk on Truth Social. He said Musk has gone “off the rails” and called his “America Party” a “train wreck.”

This fight between two of the biggest names in American politics and tech is getting serious. Trump says the US system was never built for third parties. “They only cause chaos,” he warned. “We already have enough of that with the Radical Left.”

What’s the Real Issue Between Trump and Musk?

Their friendship started strong. Musk supported Trump’s reelection. Trump even said Musk “puts the country before his company.” But things turned sour when Musk criticized Trump’s massive tax-and-spending bill — the one Trump calls the ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’

Trump claims this bill will help regular Americans and remove the “Electric Vehicle Mandate.” Musk, who owns Tesla, is clearly not happy. He argues that cutting EV benefits hurts clean energy progress.

Musk Claps Back with ‘America Party’

Musk didn’t stay silent. He mocked Trump’s Truth Social, asking, “What’s Truth Social?” He quoted Dune and said Trump is afraid: “Fear is the mind-killer.”

Musk says his party won’t run a president — yet. Instead, he wants to focus on 2–3 Senate seats and 8–10 House seats in 2026. If those candidates win, Musk says they can influence major laws. He believes this is the only way to serve “the true will of the people.”

A Clash of Ego or Real Politics?

Trump says Musk only cares about his own companies like Tesla and SpaceX. He even mentioned turning down Musk’s friend for the NASA chief job, saying, “It’s not right for a space businessman to run NASA.”

Meanwhile, Musk says the main problem is the $5 trillion debt increase from Trump’s bill. “What’s the point of @DOGE if he adds more debt?” he posted on X.

What’s Next?

Experts agree with Trump on one thing: third parties usually fail in America. But Musk has billions, a loyal fanbase, and tech platforms like X. That makes him different.

Trump is now painting Musk as a rich outsider chasing personal gain. Musk is framing Trump as scared and outdated.

This clash isn’t just about parties — it’s about two big egos, two different futures, and one very angry breakup.
