Renault has revealed a brand-new SUV called the Boreal, which is expected to arrive in India by 2026. This new SUV is specially made for countries outside Europe, including India, and is being called a seven-seater version of the Renault Duster.

The Boreal is built on Renault’s ultra-flexible platform, first used in the Renault Kardian. This platform allows Renault to create different car body types quickly and helps the company launch new models faster in non-European markets. It also allows new technologies to be added based on the needs of different countries.

Key Features of the Renault Boreal:

  • Size: The Boreal is over 4.5 meters long and 1.84 meters wide with a wheelbase of 2700 mm, meaning it offers a roomy interior. Short front and rear overhangs help maximize space inside.
  • Design: It features a body-colored front grille with a glowing Renault logo, sleek LED headlights, and stylish 19-inch alloy wheels.

  • Interiors: The cabin has twin 10-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone AC, and 48-color ambient lighting for a premium feel.
  • You can choose from two upholstery styles – Cool Grey (for Turkey) and Blue (for Latin America), both with contrast stitching.
  • The front seats are electrically adjustable and come with memory settings. The driver seat even has a massage function!
  • Other features include Google integration for smart controls and a Harman Kardon music system for rich sound.

Engine and Performance:

The Boreal is powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine. It will be available in:

  • Petrol version
  • Flex-fuel version (runs on petrol and ethanol mix)

The flex-fuel engine produces 160 bhp and 270 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
